Crappie fishing trip

Featured Replies

We decided to go crappie fishing yesterday. We were using crappie minnows, fishing them 10 to 16 foot deep in up to 25 foot of water. The only problem is that all we could catch was bass. It was kinda strange, these minnows were only 1 1/2" long. Anyhow, it was a good time even though we didn't catch what we were fishing for ;D

We were fishing using the spider rig technique on micro rods with 4lb test. It was in the low 40's outside and 30 mph wind...

Thanks! It was a good day, I guess I'll go crappie fishing more often ;)

Even though I was hoping for Crappie for dinner and you didn't catch me any, You still did a good job.  The pictures turned out good.  I can't wait to go out and try to catch them myself soon!!

I keep trying to get her to go, but she has a very busy schedule... I think she is waiting for warmer weather...

Don't worry though, I sure we will have some pics of her holding up some hawgs in the near future, and maybe a few more stories about outfishing me too ;)

Dang that looked like a good day right there, you caught more and bigger bass than I have caught this year :o

Looks like you guys had a great day! I love catching Crappie but I'd trade em for those fish any day of the week.

Blue eyes, is he inviting you??? You don't seem like the type to back out of any fishing.

So what was the bet, who could hang the most rods of their end of the boat? :)

We had 17 crappie minnows in the water at a time. It is a crappie technique called spider rigging which translates into retying knots all day ;D Usually multiple lines get hung at the same time...

He is inviting me! I am not the kind to back out of any kind of fishing your right, but you see I have a 2 year old little girl who makes it hard to just pack up and go whenever. Although we do take her with us she doesn't last to long out there, especially if its cold. I soo wish that I could go as often as he does, but he gets to go during the day while I am at work too!! Its ok though, that just makes each time I do get to go that much better!!!! As soon as I get the chance I am going and you better bet I will OUT FISH HIM!! ;D
