Would you even waste time with the buzz?

Featured Replies

I have a tourney coming up.  Water temp should be in the mid to upper 40's.  Start time is 7:00 am.  Think it would even be worth the time of chunking a buzzbait?  Or even a POP'R?

I would think there would me a more effective way to catch 5 with those water conditions. Could you catch one???? ......Sure. But I don't see you loading the boat with that method.

I personally rarely get a topwater bite until the water warms up to the low 70's.

I am wanting to figure out what would work best for the first couple hours of the day, before the lipless crank and c-rig bite turn on.

I would never consider a buzz a waste of time

But I would wait till after the tournament.  8-)

I actually read a article in Bassin or Bassmasters about Rick Clunn using a buzzbait in those conditions.  If I remember correctly it was snowing hard and everything was just silent almost and he stated nothing was working so he said what the hell and started using a buzzbait and proceeded to catch them.   I would try it myself you never know

Buzzbaits work great in the spring. I always tie on a buzz and give it a chance, some days you dont get a hit, but other days you slam 'em. Its worth 10 minutes to find out.

Thanks for the input.  I love top water.  I think that the morning will start out with a 12" black Booyah with a clacker.
