New PB!!

Featured Replies

today i decided to do a little fishing right before my 2 o'clock class started. I took a few cast in a couple of different spots not being in anyone spot for more than 5 minutes. When i got to my final spot while reeeling in what i thought would be my last cast i had a peacock come up and just blast my baby 1-minus in about 2 feet of water  and about 3 feet from shore. When i saw the fishes head i knew it was big when when it turned to head into open water and i saw its side profile i knew it was by far  the biggest peacock bass i've ever hooked into. I had a little trouble with the drag on my daiwa sol but i finally got it together and landed the fish. when i got it up to the bank i sat it next to my rod and ran to the car to grab my lipper and the end result was an 8.5lb buick of a fish which i thought might of actually had a chance at the state record but fell short by a little over a half a pound. i was a shaky mess after landing it and im gladddddd to finally get that of my chest  8-)

Nice job.    I've had the same happen w/ my phone and end up w/ pics of the sky and or grass.  That sux about the pics, but the moment lives.

Gotta love them peacocks.

Never had a chance to catch a Peacock as they weren't down there when I lived in Miami but you did GREAT!

Cool story dude.

Welcome to the forum and the "South Florida boyz"

Sounds pretty awesome. I've never caught a peacock bass but it must have been a monster. Congratulations.
