2/25/07 Tournament

Featured Replies

Had my first club tournament this past Sunday on Lake Wylie.  Air temps were in the mid 40's with a pouring rain 80% of the day.  My boater actually lives on the lake and has a lot of knowledge of it.  We fished a lot of rocky points and flats and also a lot of boat docks.  We never really put anything together, so needless to say I zeroed and my boater only caught one.  The winning weight was around 9lbs. Even with the weather conditions and no fish I love fishing these club tournaments.

Oh and I threw a spinnerbait and a rat l trap on the points and around the docks since the fish were feeding heavily on shad. I also skipped a senko around the docks.  I actually started the day throwing a jerkbait but didn't for very long, in hindsight I should have gave that a better chance.  But hey you know what they say about hindsight.

If they were feeding on shad you should of given the jerkbait a chance but i'm sure you'll have better luck next time!

Our club had a tournament on lake Murray on the 17th and the air temp was 20 and the water was about 45. the winning weight was 21 lbs on a pj's football jig in 35-40 feet of water on points. I caught 5 fish on a dropshot for 8lbs even and my boater caught 11lbs on crankbaits and a dropshot

But hey you know what they say about hindsight

Yes, but it's kind of clinical.

It's when your optic nerve is attached to your rectum.

Gives a person a crappy outlook on life.

cure = optirectomy.

I've had two (so far)
