OK, i hit Lake Miramar from 0600 to 1700(5pm).  I guess i did suck, but so did everyone else,(except the 2 kids using shad/shiners(?).

I got hit 2 times today.

Once was on a c-rig in about 25' of water, i felt the tug, set the hook, felt the fight back, then nothing, my worm came up to the boat with a whole senko attached, with a rip in the middle, i guess from a wacky rig.  That woulda, shoulda, coulda been my first c-rig cath but it wasn't.

Second,  pitching a jig deep into the cattails/rushes.  it hit the water i let it drop on an open bailfelt a very slight tick, then nothing, i set the hook hark over my right should and pulled a beautiful 2lber from the reeds.  I went to get my phone to take a picture but the darn phone decided not to work(for 3 hours).  So i put him back and went about my day, just glad i caught something.

I spent the next 6 or 7 hours just trying to find more fish.  I found them(7 of them) but as clear as the water was today, i saw them, they saw me, and they mosied on about thier business.

5 of them were the same size or smaller than my 2 lber, the 6th was a little bigger just enough to tell it was bigger, i guessa solid 3.75 to 4lbs.  The last was so much bigger than the others i have no idea how big it was.   8+ by my un-educated guess.

all in all i have a few ideas about what to try next time i get a clear sky there.  i need to find 5" or 6" grubs in green pumkin, and some jigs that don't have glitter in the paint.

I WILL NEVER TRY TO DROP SHOT AGAIN WITHOUT ELECTRONICS, talk about an exersize in frutality.   I most places i could see 25'  to 30' down barring the wind, all thats there right now is open flats, the weeds are just starting to grow.   And supposedly there are 3 humps about 40ft down that hold fish, i thought i was on 2 of them but couldn't find a bite for about 3 hours.  I figured that was enough of a dedication to drop shotting.  back to the reeds.

Hopefuly next time i'll get to ride backseat, but i don't know, the water was in the mid 50's.  In about a week or wo it should be up to the low 60's thats when i go there everyday its open(fri-tues)

Well, thanks for taking the time to read my drawn out post.

Dave

ps i apologize for the spelling errors.
