first time out on kayak

Featured Replies

didnt get to fish much. only had 1 ultralight rod with me rigged with a roadrunner. really just wanted to get a feel for the yak. after a couple casts i got this guy. my first fish out of any kind of moving object. (more of a shore fisherman) and my first sandbass. so i killed 2 birds with one stone in a way. good luck everyone.

You did good.

Now, your next objective is to hook a bass that will pull you around the lake for a few minutes in your kayak before you land her.

That will be a lot of fun! :)

ya its pretty great. im going to try to get on some LMB next weekend. we'll see

My first "vehicle" was an inflatable raft.

I swear it was only a 1/2 step up from a pool toy.

But when your glued to the bank anything seems like a great idea.

Just be careful in that yak.

A pair of spring creek stabilizers can be a lifesaver.

see Cabela's

good luck and have fun.

Congrats on your first time fishing from a yak. I'm still a shore guy. I need to get a yak or a canoe.

its cool because even if you dont like to fish off of it you can paddle to shorline that people cant get to and have awsome fishing oportunities there. kayaks are much faster and easier to go further with but you can take muck more with a canoe so it depends.
