Great story, Glenn and Keri! You guys really busted into the fish.  Dean looks like a great guy.  He should stop by the forums one day and say hi!  We could always use good, honest members like him.  I mean, didn't charge you even when you caught fish?  Amazing!

Folks, this is a good place to thank and give mention to any guide services or help that was offered in catching your fish.  I didn't know who went with who so I made no mention of the guides, please feel free to do so now.

WOW Glenn, what a day you and Keri had  ;D ;D ;D.  I got a feeling you'll be telling this story for a long time.

Details, details. Ok.  It's my bread-n-butter setup: 3/4oz Hank Parker spinnerbait.  I attach at white lumiflex skirt with a pearl white Zoom split-tail trailer.  In this case, I dipped the tail in chartruese Spike-it because that seemed to be the way the bass want all their plastics down there.  Keri caught hers on a 1/4-ounce Warrior spinnerbait - white - right out of the package.

I caught the big one in an area where a 3-4' creek channel empties onto a wide flat that's about 1 1/2' deep.  That spot is where the channel forms and was the deepest area of the flat.  I think it was a natural funnel area.

The other two were caught in grass in 2-3' water.  Keri's was sitting on the grassy, stumpy edge of a roadbed, and the 8-pounder was in a giant grassy flat out in the middle of the lake.  We were just fan-casting spinnerbaits over them.  Retrieve was fairly fast.  We caught a handful of smaller fish on the edges of private boat ramps scattered about the lake.

The real scary thing about Dean is that he called the shot not once, but twice!  We would pull up to a spot, and he would say, "Cast right over to that dark patch of weeds, I guarantee there's a fish there" and he was right!
