The heat has arrived....blech!

So begins the season of madness for me!

Wednesday after work, I met my buddy Justin just as he was getting out of school and started the long drive to the lake. I had to work at 7:30am the next day.

Its so nice being out on the lake with no trout fisherman bothering you and enjoying the 60 degree temperature....especially when the bite is on!

We had a little over 21lbs for our best five which is not a ton, but it was a ton of fun! My buddies biggest fish came on a swimbait and went 5-13. I tossed some giant trout plugs for about an hour before breaking out the "big fish" gear....a buzzbait, lol!  We didn't catch a ton of fish but they were all better than three pounds and I had some GIANT swirls that never connected. But I did get a new buzzbait PB at 6-2.

F I N A L L Y packed it in a little after two. Lost my cell phone somewhere along the way. WEAK! Asleep by 4:30am and out the door for work by 7:00. UGH it was miserable the next day, but soooo worth it! Buzzbaits are fun!

P.S. Check out the weird light anomaly at the top of the picture. I think we were almost abducted......

nice fish!!!!! i swear id move to Cali just for the fishing if i had the chance

I love it too but I dont have anyone to go with! I hate beeing alone in the dark! ;D

What were talkin' about?

Oh well

Man, what a great subject line!! Guaranteed to get mucho hits.

hehehe ill have to agree...fishing wasnt the first thing on my mind when i read that  ;D

Great fish! And the anticipation of hearing the "explosion" on the buzzbait without being able to see it makes it even better. Unfortunately, over here we are only allowed to fish for only one hour after sunset so I don't get to feel that excitement too often >:( (though my last jitterbug bass, a 5lber, was caught in near complete darkness 50 minutes after sunset)...
