Fishing after a storm Pt 2 (pics)

Featured Replies

So I'm getting ready to go fishing after putzing around all day with the crazy t-storms subsiding. I post a thread in general Bassin asking about fishing after storms and get a quick reply from Avid (Thanks for that :)) that boosts my confidence and then im out the door. First cast first fish, right off a dam by my buddies lake on a watermelon green senko I had tied up.Photo-0023.jpg This was going to be the average size of the day, i had like 6-7 of these.

So i call my buddy who turned down the offer to go with me to bust his chops, telling him how its not raining (which is why he wouldnt come) and soon as i hung up the phone it starts steady drizzling and i begin to get soaked!I'm fishing this little corner of the lake by my friends house and pull out a bunch of 1 lbers, and know theres a nice one in there. Finally I coax it out, but this is during a now TORRENTIAL downpour. I think the man upstairs rewarded my dedication with some nice fish. Pic blows i know, because theyre all on my camera phone in pouring rain and crappy lighting.

So now im about to leave as im soaked to the bone, and there are ponds pooling in the sleeves of my rain jacket when I decide to throw on a deep diving blue rapala over by the dam again to get a trout. Rod loads up and i set the hook for my nicest fish of the night, and my nicest of 2007. This one I made my my bro take over and over again until he got it right ::)

Photo-0028.jpg Overall it was a great night except for the case of pneumonia I feel coming on! ;D

So does fishing in the rain work?

Well Catt, I definitely didn't too bad with prob like 7-8 bass over like an hour and a half of fishing, dropping 2 nice ones as well. They were still hitting the senko even in heavy rain that most "normal people" would've called it a day on considering your holding a 6'6" lighting rod ;). I'll tell you though, the only thing that kept me out there in the downpour was I kept catching em, and by that point I was soaked through and through anyway.

Yeah, It's really cool fishin storm baits

Or fishing bass baits in a storm.

or something.  :-/
