Don't ya just love hookin' into a pig at lunch...

Featured Replies

Took my lunch break today. Stopped at one of our creeks and hooked into a nice fish. Hooked her on a drop-shot *** 5" ***. I also had a question about texas rigged plastics. Does anyone have a problem with missing the hit? I have been tex-posing lately and I seem to be catching more fish. Everytime I go back to texas-rigged I seem to miss them and tex-posing I almost never miss the strike. Am I just not setting the hook hard enough or a little slow on the set? Or could it just be the luck of fishing.

Good looking fish congrats.  On the texas rigged question I have had that problem in the past and I figured that I had the hook buried to deep in the bait I didn't push it all the way through just kind of skin hooked it.  Once again congrats on the lunch break bass.

I fished with Senkos for the first time today and I felt like I missed a lot of hooksets I would normally make on my Zoom trick worms. I don't know if it's because they're not as big around and I wasn't used to the hook being so deep in the Senko or what, but I understand what you're saying. Tomorrow I'm definately going to try Tex-posing my Senkos, although I'm kinda afraid since they're so fragile to begin with, I'd think I will lose a lot more and getting more isn't as easy for me as it is to get trick worms.

4lbs 6oz was the weight. It was really long but not a huge girth or body. Plus Spawn is getting over and probably have lost some weight. Great fight though. Lasted about 10 mins. d**n thing kept running into a downed tree where I flippin and caught it. My buddy cught this one about 30 mins leter down the bank flipping some grass.

T-rigging and Tex-sposing are two different things;  apples and oranges for instance.

Texas-rigging is the method/technique including usually a weight(but not necessarily with a Senko) and an EWG worm hook.

Tex-sposing just refers to the way the hook's point is pierced through the worm, etc.  I have always used Tex-skin-on-top when using any soft-plastic except when wacky-rigging of course.  You should always run the hook's point all the way through the bait and let it lie on top of the bait then pinch the worm's 'skin' a little(1/32"?) behind the point and bring the skin forward and up over the tip.  Now the bait is weedless but ready to spring into action! ;)
