Pretty weird "fish story"...

Featured Replies

I was fishing yesterday at Mogodore Resevoir here near Akron, OH My brother just hooked up and was bringin in a bass....we were both using black rubber worms...texas rigged....he gets the bass about 3 feet from the boat....when the head gets out of water he shakes loose.....about a second later

I almost have my worm to the boat....same side as the one he is one....and sure enough.....*whack*.....in the open water...about 7 feet from the boat.....I pull the bass into the boat...

I thought it was pretty coincedental that my brothers fish just got off and I caught one about a second later in open water near no cover...I looke at the fish...and there is my hook...and about 3 inches away....a fresh mark and alittle blood.....yes...I caught the one that got away!!

We were laughing about it.....was the bass ticked off when it saw the second black worm? Was it an impulse strike? Starving? Or are bass vengeful... I just have had nothing like that happen before.....oh...it was 2lbs 2 oz

Good story.

Last spring at Lake Fork Triton 21 caught his PB (personal best) twice! When he boated the bass, sure enough, the bass still had his other stick bait lodged in her mouth. What's the chance of that happening? Especially on your "fish of a lifetime".

Thats pretty good...lol....sorry about the post location....

funny story

who knows why a bass does what it does?

I would definitely call it a reaction strike though.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't had wittness's.  My fishing buddy Ken and a local saw it happen.

I know of a story that happened in my bass club where bass fisherman #1 hooked a bass on the top of his head with a topwater popper and the fish threw the bait.

Fisherman #2 in another boat adjacent to fisherman #1 got a hit on his topwater and landed him.

Seems he had a bleeding wound on the top of his head.

Go figure?
