And here I thought I had a HUGE fish

Featured Replies

Went to the local pond today, the fish were still slammin the dragonflies, and the bite was slow. The fish pictured was caught right before I packed up to go home. Got all fouled up in the Milfoil. For a minute I thought I had a Hawg. I had to dig through, just to find the fish!! You can see all the salad I hauled in under the fish.

I know how that fishing can be and I really don't like it.

I did catch a small bass on Kerr Lake (Buggs Island) using a spinning bait along with a tree branch.

Yes, the spinnerbait along with the bass got stuck on a submerged tree limb.

I thought I had a good one, then a snag, and was surprised when I reeled in the tree branch to find the fish.

Isn't bass fishing fun?

That's still a good fish!  Not quite a hawg, maybe a hawglet or large pig.  ;)
