  1. All you needed was a plate. can anybody say, shore lunch.
  2. Those are still some nice fish!!
  3. Bass and crappie both utilize the same type of cover and both feed on minnows. I have used rattle traps, spinnerbaits, and other lures that mimic bait fish around submerged trees (my crappie hot spots) and caught some nice bass. In hot weather the fish will be deeper, so fish deep around these crappie beds and you should put some in the boat. Worms, senkos, and soft plastics around the docks and drop offs. Crawfish or shad patterned crankbaits in the holes and deep areas. Sounds like this lake has some good structure, all of these tips from everyone have to produce some fish. Good luck!
  4. That's cool, there's nothing like seeing them catch their first bass. Hopefully he will share your excitement and catch many more fish for years to come!!!!
  5. Good job Chris I really enjoyed it! Better luck next time! 8-)
  6. No, I just use the original Rapala and add and remove split shot weights to make it run at different depths. I've caught fish at several depths. I teach you Thursday
  7. I have Tried it before but it didn't seem to increase my fish count.
  8. Hey Chris, just go fishin with me and i will show you how to use it! ;D
  9. Those are some quality fishes.
  10. Nice fish, great colors!!
  11. Bass or not, its still a nice fish. What did you catch him on? I like cutbait, and now your making me want to go catfishin.
  12. Location: Shorter, AL Date: 8/16/2007 Time: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM Ivey_Fish_Camp vs. Trixo69, who will reign supreme! The series is tied at 1 a piece. IFC leads the total fish count 8-3. Will Trixo69 take the lead or will he be dominated once again :'( ? Tune in to the forums on August 16th to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAME ON! --------------------------------------------------RESULTS---------------------------------------------------------- The day started off slow for Trixo69 aka. Chris. He had a couple of bites early but no fish in the boat. Ivey_fish_camp aka. Chip began the day with a nice keeper fish by some floating cover. Over the next few hours, Chip mounted a 7-1 lead and was feeling good. During the couple of hours Chris began to make a comeback landing 5 more fish, but it wasn't quite enough as time expired. Chip was victorious once, catching 8 bass to Chris' 5 bass. Chip landed the big fish of the day at 4lbs. Chip leads the series with 2 wins to Chris' 1, and also has a total fish lead of 16-8. Hopefully we can get out again soon when the 100 degree weather is gone and water level in the ponds is replenished. See attached pics.
  13. Thanks for all of your input, it seems like these are quality cranks. The primary forage in my ponds (postspawn) are; baby bass and bluegill, crawfish, and shiners. I think I will start out with these colors, thanks to everyone.
  14. I'm sure you made the right decision, go fishin, right. I know I've gotten my truck stuck on the way to a pond, walked with my gear the rest of the way, fished all day, then call someone to pull my truck out when i was done. Fish on Playa, fish on!
