I'm looking for some thought on Rapala's Dives To Series crankbaits, I lost my last crank today and need to reload my arsenal.

GREAT CRANKS: Craw Fish and Bluegill colors have worked best for me so far

Red or Brown Craw ?

Silver is best for me.  Followed by bluegill, perch and red craw.

I like them......I'm usually fond of most wooden baits.

As far as colors go, match your forage.

We're getting ready to go into the fall feeding frenzy shortly so for me I'm throwing shad colors alot.

Chrome, shad, red, brown, and greens (fire tiger) will cover about everything.

I like the DT series, but don't love it.  I get more on deep diving Bagleys and Bandit 300s.  I think Bagley has a better wobble, and the Bandits make some noise.

These are great cranks.  My favorite colors are bluegill, green tiger, and of course, shad.

I'm not a big crank bait fisherman, but I like these baits.  I fish many of the cheaper brand crankbaits as well, but feel the DT's are the best value IMO.  Has many of the high end, 15 dollar a bait, features at less than half the cost.  I like the all the colors already suggested, but can't believe nobody has mention baby bass.  It or bluegill are my absolute favorite.  For the life of me I don't understand why every crankbait company doesn't put the dive depth on the bill.

these are great cranks. whats best about them is they go to the exact depth right out of the box. so you can load up on the ones for the depths you fish. i really like the shad color, but match your local forage.

The DT's are great now that they fixed the lip problems. The DT16 is a killer deep crank and yes, that baby bass color is awesome in postspawn (DT4 or DT6)

go to wal mart find the middle n by norman lures they have a chartruse or baby bass color which is called yearly bass

I like the DT crankbaits.  My favorite is Silver in either the DT-4 or DT-6.

One thing about these lure is that I have yet to find two that run exaclty the same.

Thanks for all of your input, it seems like these are quality cranks. The primary forage in my ponds (postspawn) are; baby bass and bluegill, crawfish, and shiners. I think I will start out with these colors, thanks to everyone.

I'm fairly new to using crankbaits, but not long ago the bass were hangin around at 8' in 12-16' of water.

My first serious use of a lipped crank was a DT16 in a light color (similar to shad). I kept the speed a little low so that the crank went to 8-10' and didn't dive all the way down.

Result? 3.96 largemouth, only fish I caught that day (lost one on a rattletrap), third place in the tourney with big fish thrown in.

I plan on using more cranks (and jigs) in the future.

Honestly I'll never buy a DT crankbait again! > The first few that I bought the diving lip broke off the bait in the first 5 casts.  At $6-7 a bait that is wrong!!!!!
