XPS cranks

Featured Replies

Did a search and nothing really popped up. Are the Bass Pro Shop XPS series any good? I figured for $3.99 a piece if I lost a couple it would'nt really worry about losing an expensive bait.

Obviously, spinnerbaits are more my thing but I do know there are times that crankbaits will out produce my beloved spinnerbaits (pick your jaw up SPEEDBEAD! LOL!). With that said, I have had success with the BPS XPS Nitro Extreme Crank and the Static Shad series (the one I think kinda looks like the Rapala Shad Rap).

IMO they are a steal. They flat out catch fish. The overall durability is pretty decent. The quality is along the same lines as a Bandit or Normans. You will get some bad apples in the bunch but that happens with any cheap cranks. The hooks are pretty crappy so you may choose to change them.

I am very pleased with these lures. I like the splatter black pattern very much.

Great, a color I don't have! LOL

I've only had one of the Static Shad series that rolled on me and could not get it tuned in to save my life. That's the only issue I've had with any of mine.

I agree.  I have an XPS Nitro in Splatterback, shallow diver, and it absolutely kills.

I have gotten some XPS lures that stunk too.

I have a hard time buying any other brand these work so well and they are priced right too!

Great baits for the price.

And, if you get one that will not tune to run true, take it back. They will replace it, no questions asked.

Never popped into my head to take it back. Figures, I don't have that one anymore though. A stump in about 5' liked it more than I did obviously.  ;D

X2 I would normally tie a loose overhand knot in it and let it sail into the sunset never to return ;)

I got one for free, hated it.  Didn't run straight, not a big deal, just adjusted it.  But the hook quality is horrible.  Had it bend on a 2.5# fish!!!!  Wouldn't buy one.   JMO.

I've caught lots of fish with them-

And thrown expensive lures right afterwards, and gotten nothing.

Its worth the $3 you'll spend, IMHO
