Got to the lake shore about 1530.  Fished a drop shotted 4" Roboworm Hologram Shad along the tules edges  from the bank. Caught two, 8" dinks before 1830. Started walking the banks back toward the parking lot working an "american shad" LC Sammy 100. Had 2 boils that both missed. Approx 1915(fifteen minutes before they lock me in for the night, i had a nice 2lber(est) slam my Sammy about 12' from the bank, short hard fight. About 15" long but FAT. I already have a flashlight and my scale in the backpack for my next twilight trip. All i need now is a camera.

A camera is good idea then you can finallly post your pics. Did you drop your cat in the lake when you where fishing? ;D ;D

No i didn't, my 3 cats don't go anywhere ear water if they can help it, they don't even like drinking the stuff.

I grew up in La Mesa, just across from Patrick Henry. I only fished it a couple of times but never managed to catch anything. I did put a few golf balls in there though ... not on purpose.  :

Lake Murray has one of the largest concentration of big bass, due to the winter trout stocks and the massive schools of shad in the summer and fall.  If i had access to a drop off i would probably catch more, but the bank access is shallow all the way around with the deep spot out of reach.  Thats why i am fishing at dusk.
