All in-one-tool or ?

Featured Replies

Need advice . Considering buying Gerber 600 fisherman multi-tool to replace multiple loose tools in my tackle bag. Does anyone use the Gerber tool or any all-in-one tool ? Or do you perfer seperate tools?

Yes! buy the Gerber, one of if not the best in my opinion. plus the black coating is sweet and has an optional tool kit.

I use my Gerber all the time! Absolutely love the scissors on this tool! They'll cut braid like its mono! The Carbide cutters are good but can be awkward to use if you need to cut a hook out of a fish. I had an issue about 2 years ago where the release button (for the head piece)broke. I called Gerber up and they sent me the replacement parts (free, limited lifetime warranty) in just a couple of days!  Gerber has great customer service, IMO!

I use a leatherman mulit tool everytime I fish. Most come with a sheath that will attach to your belt. I take this one step further and have attached a stretchy shoe strint (the kind that curls) and tied a clip on each end. I attach one side to my belt loop and the other end to the pliers. I never have to worry about my pliers falling in the water.

I like seperate tools. Sometimes I only have 1 hand to work with or wet hands and trying to pull out the tools from the handles of the multi-tools becomes impossible.

I have a Flambeau tacklebox with the tool rack on the sides. I place my Scissors, pliers, forceps and knife there for easy access while fishing. Its a truly great invention.

I've used a Crescent Toolz-All Pro (similar to the Gerber or Leatherman) for the last twelve years. It's always on my belt.

I used to use separate tools, but now I prefer to have them all-in-one. I never have to look for a specific tool.
