Sometimes fishing on the Marsh/Farm means catching the small ones also.

What it weigh?

baby gator eat it or is this a Boga Grip ad??  ;D (seriously, I bet they would love to use that pic)

If you look closely to the left of the Boga Grip you can see the chug bug. At $3 and change we don't give lures to gators. I took it out right after this pic and really didn't pay attention to the weight. However, at about 6 feet long I would guess about 90 pounds.

I'd rather loose a cheap chug bug then handle one of those! :)

Normally I would agree but I bet GW has dealt with these guys before.  Also, at that size, with more than 1 guy, he is more than manageable.

Heck, it's just an overgrown friendly lizard. Not as smart as a Gecko, or they would be featured for GEICO.

Most often gators do not actually get hooked. If they are hiding in grass they will grab at top water baits, but with a mouth like shoe leather the hooks don't penetrate. However they do not want to give up their prize. Gators realize that for the most part you are their only predator so once near the boat they panic, open their mouth, and you have your bait back. They play just like a big bass, however for the most part without long runs and you would be supprised how big of a gator can be brought in on 20# line.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend handling them if you don't have a clue what you are doing. They have a nasty set of chompers and a tail that could put a kink in your leg.
