Caught one fish today.

Featured Replies

Yep, it was slow again. Got one bass, 15" and a little over 1 pound. Again it seems the only thing they would hit was a 4" blue roboworm fished weightless. Caught this one, then had a bite on a brown/green roboworm and thats it.

We also caught a few bluegills.

Here's a pic of the bass.

thats not a bad bass for a slow day..try throwing some spinnerbait to try and cover more area to locate the bass quicker...but keep the pics comming man

I didn't use a spinnerbait today but I threw one last time I was out there earlier this week and I covered the whole area and didn't get a single hit.

Today I used some jigs, senkos, and crankbaits and didn't get anything on them.

What exactly was the weight of that bass.... like 1.7 or 1.8 LBS? I just think he looks bigger than just over a pound from the pic. He was 15 inches and looks quite fat so i would guess he was closer to 2 LBS.

Well I have one of those analog scale/measuring tape combo thingys, and on that it showed as just barely over a pound. Not even a pound and a quarter, like a pound and an eight. I was also thinking that it would be heavier because of how long he is and how fat but maybe my scale isn't accurate. I'm going to have to get some weights and weigh them on the scale to see how close it is.

This one was about a half inch longer than the one I caught the other day, but not as fat, and they both weighed the same on my scale.

That's a good bass either way!  Congrats!

Yeah man i think those two bass are at least 1.5 pounds. I posted about a 15 inch bass on the last thread you made that was 1 LB 7 OZ. Il put the pic of him on here too. My fish is about the same size as your two fish so I think your scale is off. A realy fat 15 inch bass could weigh well over 2 lbs I know that for a fact so your bass is at least 1.5 LBS. My 1.7 LB bass weighed on rapalla digital scale....

Yeah it must be wrong, because yours looks about the same size as mine, maybe even a little skinnier. How much do those digital scales run? Mine was only 5 bucks so that may be why its wrong.

I guess you get what you pay for my scale goes to 50 pounds and only costs 5 dollars.  ::)

Just ask your Mother for a full sack of flour or sugar.  Put it in a plastic grocery bag and weigh it.  Those bag's weights are government controlled so you should know if your scale is correct after weighing a bag(or two).

Haha good idea I was gonna weigh a dumbell but I only have a 20 pounder so it still wouldn't tell me how accurate it is at low weights.

one gallon of water is equivalent to 8lbs (not including container) so that might help a little with the lower weights. and then you go do a half gallon of water which would be 4lbs and a quarter gallon of water which would be 2 pounds and if you wanted to you could weigh an eighth gallon of water which should weigh 1 pound. those weights are all assuming you accuratley mesuer out 1/2 and 1/4 etc... gallons.
