Nice fish.  Had to buy a scale yesterday at Walmart after reading this thread.  I think I went too cheap though.  Congrats on the PB.  I'm getting closer, so maybe soon a land something that nice.

Bait monkey loves me reading the forums, based on what I've read the last few days I had to grab a scale, powerworms, Manns baby minus,  among other things.

Is your Wall Mart scale that  black berkey one that goes up to 50 LBS and costs about $20? If so I use the exact same one as you. That is a strange looking bass though. Its fat with a very small mouth. Maybe its deformed or something. Still a big fish though and it still looks healthy!
