Went out to dodge a few golf balls

Featured Replies

My brother and I went out to some golf course lakes to see how they were biting yesterday.  Not to bad we finished off the day with 35 fish up to 5 lbs.  Overall not too bad, we caught fish on everything from spinnerbait to topwater. I think it was the start of a really productive winter/spring season down here.  Only took a few pics, First my bros almost 5 pounder, second my 3.5 pounder.  Oh well i hope this helps some of you guys get through the pain of cabin fever.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

You guys did great.

I love golf course ponds.

Have a great New Year and keep those pics and reports coming as it gets colder and colder up north during the winter months.  :)

Sounds like a successful day. Nice fish  :)

Golf courses hold some big fish with little or no fishing pressure.  Only problem I've had is either parking or once I'm there getting run off.  I did find a closed down course in Boca with no fishing signs and so far the the couple of times I've been there have had no negative expierence.   Peacocks in that pond too.

Nice fish!

Heck, I live in Florida and I *** you having relatives that will go fishing with you.

Years ago my father and I were fishing a golf course lake in Louisville, Kentucky in February.  It was just barely above freezing and was raining.  The day could not have been more miserable.

Dad came over and pointed to some golfers across the lake and said, "Can you believe those idiots out here playing golf in this kind of weather?"

Nothing Like Golf Course Ponds!! Congrats!!

You guys have some nice hazards at your course there... one word of advice, if the bass start to reject most of the lures and presentations you used to catch them with, give the ponds a break. I single-handedly  ruined every pond at Windermere Club and had to take a break for a few months before the bite was red hot again. Don't let it get to the point where the only thing they will hit is a lure they have never seen. But golf course ponds are so much fun to fish, test lures, and its extremely easy to catch some nice fish. I enjoy your posts. Keep it up fellas!
