So I'm up on Great Sacandaga in New York this week for a tournament. I'm coming off the lake last night around 8 and a buddy of mine that we are staying with is all screwed up and crying. Long story short, across the lake on the shoreline there is a "semi"-bluff bank with a road right along the edge about 30' up. In about 9 feet of water is a full grown Golden Retriever just under the surface with a cinder-block tied around its' neck. Someone must have threw the dog off the edge of the road into the water. Some sick twisted ____ in my book... > :'(

That is horrible. That person will get what's coming to them. There are plenty of places out there that will take dogs in. There is no sense for cruelty toward animals. I just saw on the news that someone shot a horse between the eyes from a close distance. What is this world coming to?

There is a special place in hell for someone like that and I would love to be the one to send him there.  >

Wait, I feel like there is a possibility there is an explanation that makes the situation less disgusting. What if the dog was already dead from natural causes or something. Sure, it could have been buried but I'd still like to know just in case. Also, what if the dog was dying a long and painful death? I've heard drowning is fairly painless although I'm not sure how anyone would really know...It's just like the post about the dead horse. Hasn't anyone seen City Slickers when Curly shoots the mother cow after it gives birth because it was in pain?

No doubt the story sounds despicable but I'd just like to know all the facts because I HOPE that there is some sort of explanation that makes me less disappointed in the human race.

Exactly, if it was dying a slow painful death put a bullet in its head or something. Spend $100 and have it put to sleep, don't throw it off the side of the road and drown it. I can't wait to get out of this town, there is some weird *** and people up here.  :-[

Don't fool yourself. People are pretty much the same no matter where you go sometimes they just sound different. lol

As for the dog owner if he/she did it on purpose I hope karma comes back around 10 fold. If it was because they were poor or ignorant I hope someone beats some sense into their head.

the thought of this made me sick... I'm such a dog lover and can't understand any reason why they would do this, even if the dog is suffering in some way,spend that money, find a way, have it euthinized the right way! worst case, drop it off annonimously at a humane society and they'll do it when they discover the animal isn't in good health!

I wish this idiot was in Orlando because we have this private Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida. Why not give it to the pound (At the worst)? I just don't get it.
