Nice fish. I have no clue about catfish species.

give it more than 15 minutes...someone will answer.

It looks look a big channel to me. The reason I say this;

I believe I can see black spotted markings on its side

Its a little hard to see but channel cat will have a deeply forked tail and that is kind of the way it looks.

I catch alot of catfish, but I'm no expert.

At any rate, nice fish!

im no cat expert myself, though i do love to catch'em (and eat'em  ;))

and i can say this....

                     nice fish my man!

Never heard of a white cat. Nice fish though.

I would agree with you that it is a white cat.  The tail is forked but not that much, and I have never seen a channel that was completely void of spots.  Nice fish!

 I was expecting........well.......white :-[...

BTW around here I've heard of blue, channel, yellow, mud, flathead and sometimes damned ol' ;D. Never white...

 One more, fiddler. Too small to take the bait, he's just fiddlin' with it ;)...

Dunno cats very well. But here's a channel I caught on a plastic worm. No spots on this one.

thanks for all the responses actually a white cat is a type of bullhead known also as a white bullead it grows bigger than your average bullhead but smaller than channels heres a pircture of its belly which is pretty characteristic of a white very rounded and very white

That is a channel cat no doubt.  Many are caught without spots, and when they are spawning they are even mistaken for a blue cat because they can change color so much.

I will try and find the pic I have of the only albino cat I have seen in person and caught, it was huge.   ::)
