Went out to my favorite local pond

Featured Replies

Went out to my favorite local pond this morning. I got there about 7:45 and the bite in the air is kind of nipply, so I knew that the fishing was going to be a little slow. I threw cranks, swimbaits, spinners, buzz baits and finally got some hits on some slow moving senkos. The favorite bait to guarantee a fish. I didn't land my first fish until about 9:20 and I hit two lil chunks within five minutes of each other. Here is one picture and I'll upload the others when I get them from a buddy. I was also trying the new rod/reel combo, 6'3" medium Vendetta with a Daiwa Magforce. I got to say this combo is the BEST that I have ever purchased. The feeling, the smoothness of the retrieve of the reel, EVERYTHING is perfect for what I wanted to spend. I just might have to go out spend another bit of change in a few weeks to get another setup. Enough of me babbelin

Steezy, I am still in LOVE with your combos :P

That fish is all belly!

Nice catch, I fought the wind all day, and the wind won!

Nice L a r r y that is a good catch on a slow day.  I went today as well an I must say I was skunked, keep up the good work.

Senkos never fail. ;D

Here are some other pictures of the lil chunks I caught. One is of the same fish, and the other is of the other one I pulled out of the same spot. Now this is the first time that I've pulled some decent size bass out of the same area. And the funny thing, is that both of these fish just picked up the senko, I set the hook (which they were barely hooked in the corner of their mouth and the hook just fell out when I grabbed it) both fish pulled like a big catfish, never really jumped just kept their head down and tried to bury themselves in the grass cover. On the other hand, the dinks that I caught put up more of a fight. Well I'll stop bumpin my gums now and post the pictures

Those fish are nice  ;)

Nice fish, love the details. Senkos are great. I remember almost immediately upon joining the site, I asked how to catch the stubborn bass in my pond because nothing worked. Everyone recommended the the senko. I tried it... loved it. It became my claim to fame on the Troy U bass Team on the wacky-rig. I have learned alot from this forum and a love for the senko-style baits is one bit of it.

Nice fishes
