My Good Luck Client

Featured Replies

Well I am a fishing guide for a local community here in Bluffton, SC. I have been fishing my whole life, I am still very young (I'm 21) so I don't know everything, that's why I love this site it makes me a better fisherman and teacher for our residents at the Neighborhood(I teach fishing club meetings too). I have learned a ton in the short time I've been on this site. Everyone has been very helpful and willing to give up some secrets 8-)

Well I had a great fishing trip this morning! I was with a client out on his boat(he got a 2010 tracker) in our community lake(165 acres). We had been fishing soft baits all morning and crank baits all morning (and everything in between) I caught a small 2lb bass on a Smokin Rooster then I decided to try a Rage Shad on a spot that I always love fishing other baits on the bottom with. I made a few casts and didn't get anything. Made a few more saw some peanuts chasing it so I pulled it out and put some Megastrike attractant on it and a few casts later BOOM! I hooked up on a roughly 4lb bass. Then he jumped and tossed the hook.

So I went back hitting the same spot several more times then BAM! another one hit it I waited the full 3-4 seconds before I set the hook and hauled in a 5lb 2oz bass! Made some more casts to a spot 15ft away from the previous one, we had just put out some Brush piles. I hit it a few times and a Bass came up and NAILED IT! She weighed in at 6lbs 3oz.

All in all Rage Tail baits and Megastrike Attractant turned my poor morning into a great one! I unfortunately outfished my client but he got fired up seeing those big bass. He's still learning but stubborn at the same time :(

BTW we stocked this lake 3years ago this month. We have a great managment team (I work for them too 8-)) We shocked up some really nice bass I can't wait to pull out that monster bass! :D

Thanks Big-O & BobbyMegastrike!!!

I shrink fish but here are the pics, I hate having me in the picture because it makes the fish look smaller

Ignore the Goober holding the fish

Sonofa... :)

Looking at your shirt, I'm guessing it's Hampton Lakes, right?  My folks were <THIS> close to buying there, but decided on a place on Hilton Head.

Just to make it even worse, my folks took me over there when they were looking for a house and I just about lost it.  Let's just say they'd see a lot more of me if they bought in Hampton Lakes :)

I don't suppose there's any way for a non-resident to get in to fish there, is there? :)

How's the fishing been?  I see all the website literature and they're certainly saying the right stuff.  Any hogs coming out of there yet?

They're missing out ;D

Yeah we have a active management team out on the lake (I work for them part time too). We shock the lake every season to get an accurate sample of the lake. We have noticed a great increase in Bluegill population and the Hybrid Striped bass are getting HUGE! Our Tiger Bass are growing at a great rate, we have had the bass in the lake for 3 years now this month. The largest we've caught was 6lbs 6oz. My boss and I tied the record.

The numbers are great out average last year was about 2lbs and now it is very close to 3-3.5lbs. We shocked up some nice bass last month that prespawn could go over 7lbs for sure!

So all in all the fishery has really gotten good! It will be a nice fishery for our area for sure!
