WOW did not see that coming...

Featured Replies

I went out around 9 am and the fishing was unbelievable. I caught about 15 bass in a 3 hour period including a hog (seen below), but that wasn't what surprised me, in fact it wasn't a bass at all. I was fishing a curly tail in about 15 ft. of water around heavy vegetation. I got caught up a few times so this time i didn't think much of it until a 45+ muskie jumps five feet in the air!! Unfortunately it snapped me line of course, but it was an awesome thing to see. I get a lot of accidental muskie hits here in MN but never on a plastic worm.

If nothin' else, that'll get the heart pumping.  That kinda action in 3 hours is well worth the time on the water.  Nice job  8-)

That sucks the muskie got away. Nice pic of the bass though. By the way I see your PB is over 6lbs, is that the bass in avatar?? If so man looks are deceiving! that bass look huge.

Yea it does suck but you cant expect to catch a muskie on 8 lb test even if he didnt snap it on the jump he would have doing something else. Muskies are one of the most powerful fresh water fish hands down.

That was one of my three 6lb + fish that i have ever caught but that one actually is not my PB. It does look HUGE though

haha looks like we are neighbors!

I live in Maple Grove

Bass fishing in MN usually means more than a few northerns and muskies!

Last monday I was out by faribault with my cousin.  We caught about 10 bass and I caught a northern with a crankbait.  Then I switched to a senko for some dock fishing.  Hooked a fish that stopped my rod and started swimming(something nice) then,  snap.  Definitely bite off by a pike.

It does keep everything interesting up here!
