went out to my home lake with my buddy Will yesterday afternoon. i knew where they'd be the whole time, up in a back creek where its about 3 feet deep the whole way across. my dad and i have caught spawners here for 2 years.

we fished a few spots on the way to the back creek and didn't get anything. shortly after we got to the creek Will gets this nice 4lb 1oz bass

right after that he gets this this nice 4lb 5oz pickerel, his PB:

it was slow for me for a while then another boat came into the creek and decided they wanted to get into the boat with us... they were literally within a hundred feet of us. they were catching a bunch of nice bass then i finally hooked up with this 5lb 5oz bass:

many 2lbers later and Will hooked up with this 5lb 8oz bass:

Will ended up with 9 bass and 3 pickerel, i ended up with 3 bass and 1 pickerel. we're going back tomorrow  ;D

That's an awesome day for sure.  Those are some healthy looking bass.  Great job bud.

For sure that was a good day on the lake with some nice bass, but that chain pickerel is massive!

definitely!!!  everyone always puts them down (i generally find them a nuisance unless they're so big...) but really they are a good fight if you're not catching anything else. i've hooked some 4lb pickerel and thought they were my new PB bass!!
