2012 Classic Qualifying

Featured Replies

Saw the new qualifying structure for 2012 on BASS website.  Didn't see one for the WBT AOY.

By the way, I am an advocate for giving the spot to the WBT AOY.

Women have the same opportunity to make the classic as Men right? Whats more fair than that? It just so happens the majority of people bass fishing are men. That's just the way it goes. I am not a fan of special diversity programs. Just like blacks and Nascar, no one is discriminating you just have to earn it like everyone else...

You mean you want someone to earn something just on their merits ? How unique that would be.

My intention was not to rehash this stupid debate---noone's opinions on this will change. I just thought it was interesting that they removed this bid for The Classic.

Somtimes this forum gets frustrating!!! >:( >:(

I know--- if I don't like it...don't get on it...whatever. Lighten up people!!! :P :P :P

Might be because BASS eliminated the WBT (without notice) in January of this year..... ::)

In the next couple years there may not be federation nation spots in the Classic.  :-X

Actually, it's not equal - even for the men.  BASS eliminated the Western Opens. And there's no Weekend Series out West either.  Now the ONLY way anyone in the west can make it is through the federation.  And as Tin noted, that may be going away too.

FLW Series pulled out of the west as well for next year.

So no, it's not "equal".

I just realized how lucky it is to be in the midsouth area since we got all these major tournaments going on from 5 hours away to just an hour. I feel sorry for all these guys out west because they have all the potential of having great fishing and talented anglers coming from that are but idk why B.A.S.S. and F.L.W. are trying to stop that

Cause they're jealous.  ;D

I suspect one of the reasons is there are probably a couple hunderd thousand anti-fishing people on the left coast for every fisherperson and the market is not there.

That is actually a plausible answer IMO

Definitely the left coast has to change to make it economically feasible to do buisness there. With their regulations and not to mention the Taxes Im surprised anyone who fishes out there hasnt moved over here to TX yet. California has some amazing fisheries but the market and enviroment is Hostile to people who fenjoy our sport. It is sad what is going on out on the coast. I was up in Washington state recently and I couldnt believe the rules and regulations that govern fishing. All the way down to the size and shape of the hook you use.
