2005 Bass Pro Stuff

Featured Replies

I just got the new Bass Pro Shops Master Catalog Yippy! Did anyone see anything that they liked in it?

I saw a crankbait that Lucky Craft and Bass Pro shops teamed up to make it. It's a shallow diver that weighs 1/2 ounce with some good looking colors.

I am a sucker for jerfkbaits so I bought a couple of the X Raps with Santa $.

I also just recieved my Angler's catolog!;D I was a little disapointed not to see the LuckyCraft Flashminnow, and the Rapala Skitterprop. Why would they take these baits out? I am glad to  see all the new bleading bait colors. I can't wait to figure out all the new  stuff that I nead to get!

;) I noticed that BPS has updated almost all of their rod and reels. One thing that caught my eye was that the new Browning Midas baitcast and spinning reels are identical to last years Johnny Morris models the color is different but it has all the same specs. I think that BPS is making Brownings reels for them. Look in the new catalog "browning midas reels" then look back at the old one " Johnny Morris reels", and let me know what you think. I was surprised that they did not have any new Nitro boat models out for 2005.

Id be more apt to believe that the company that owns Browning, would be making the reels for BPS.

Browning was making reels like that years ago.

This is true but a couple years ago when browning wasn't doing to well they quit making reels. Then the next year they start again?? I think you may be right but I still think it's a little odd that BPS reels all changed then one of thier old models shows up as a browning reel. I think that the same company is making reels for Bass Pro and Browning.

I cant say whos making basspros reels but i do know Brunswick owns Lews and Quantum both and  if I remember right Lews and Browning used to be in kahoots some how.

So maybe it is Quantum making the BPS stuff.

Pflueger makes the BPS reels. I'm not sure if they have anything to do with Browning or not thou.

If i remember right a few years ago Bass Pro Shops bought Pflueger and now owns the company. They made the announcement in one of their catalogs i think last year or they year before.
