tinusp Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 This topic doesnt really fit into this forum but I would like to find out what is the best bass fishing game currently available on PC or Sony PS2 platform. One cant get to the water everyday... Surely a beginner like me can actually learn something from these games... Quote
Basstronaut Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 If you find one let me know. I played Reel Fishing 3 (I think) a while back on PS2, wasn't too impressed. Quote
Chris Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 there was a computer game that wasn't that bad flw outdoors Quote
tinusp Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 Have read through some of the customer reviews on amazon. Reel Fishing 3 actually got very good reviews, what is it you didnt like Basstronaut? Other games that got good reviews are: - Sega Bass Fishing Dual - Mark Davis Pro Bass Fishing Any of you played them? Quote
Big_Bass_Rich Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 My personal favourite is Trophy Bass 4 for the PC and EA Championship Bass for PC or PS1 I think. Quote
Pond-Pro Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 My favorit game for the computor is Trophy Bass 3-D. I learned A LOT from this game. It included real vidieos from a couple of bass pros. Evan though it is not very realistic, I still enjoy it. ;D Quote
Basstronaut Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Reel Fishing 3 actually got very good reviews, what is it you didnt like Basstronaut? was a while back, last year sometime IIRC, and the only thing that springs to mind was the awful navigation system, but that obviously didn't affect gameplay. Oh and at one point you needed vibration feedback from the control to know a fish was biting, only it didn't work. There was a note on the net somewhere about listening out for a sound instead, and we obviously don't strike based on sounds But, it is a game, and too much realism can kill the fun, maybe rent it and see if you like it, I remember playing it for a few weeks, which is more than I can say for some of my other games. soldier Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Just picked up "In-fisherman Freshwater Trophies", for the pc. Real good graphics...highly rated on Amazon...for $20, it' s a good deal. Quote
Mike H. Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Rapala Pro Fishing is out on the PC and XBOX(PC comes with a lure ), and there is another one out for the XBOX, but I cant remember the name...Only game Ive played for the PS2 I didnt like...Waaaaay to hard to reel in fish ??? Quote
Username Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Trophy bass games are good. Ea championship bass(i think is the name) for ps1 and reelfishing games suck to me. Very real but thats a downfall. THere harder than real fishing and the fish arent reallly lure selective. Quote
bquittem Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 just bought mark davis bass fishing, i like it alot, i think for 15 bucks its the best fishing game ive ever played. u fish a ton of tournaments and fish actually relate to cover and its fast pace. fish are easy to catch but its fun. u can also catch a variety: smallies, spotts, northern largemouth, southern smallmouth. I recomend it to anyone who can get it cheap like that. Quote
SirKevin Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Just picked up "In-fisherman Freshwater Trophies", for the pc. Real good graphics...highly rated on Amazon...for $20, it' s a good deal. I just got that game today also...I like it. Quote

Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 20, 2005 Super User Posted January 20, 2005 I have Rapala Pro Fishing for PC and I absolutely hate it. It is so hard to control. I have Sega Bass Fishing Duel coming in the mail. It is supposed to be pretty good. I have played Sega line of games for Dreamcast and I really liked those A LOT. However the best game I have played has to be some game I have for Super Nintendo LOL!!! You had to start off as an Am. and work your way up to a pro. You had to find patterns, you had to earn money in tourneys to upgrade your equip (boats, rods, reels, line, lures, plastics, towing vehicles, sponsorships, the whole bit). Quote
Fisher of Men Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Funny thing, I thought about posting on this topic yesterday. My wife got me Rapala Pro fishing for Christmas and we like it. It was kind of hard to reel in King Salmon, but the other species are fun to catch. I don't like that there's no trolling motor, but it's OK and the graphics are good. I used to have Trophy Bass on PC, but it messed up my startup screens, so I removed it. I wish it was offered on PS2. Quote
cfruel Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 BASS Strike for PS2 is a good game but it is hard to reel in fish. The game feel and controller feedback is good. Rapala Pro Fishing is not a good game. The graphics are good but there is no way to see the fish coming to hit the lure and you can only use crank baits (Rapala baits). There is absolutely no feedback from the controller, it is a boring stupid game. I haven't played any of the other games mentioned. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 I got some Bass Fishermans Tournament Club (or something like that) game for Christmas. It is for my PS2. This dang game makes me so mad that I can't even play it. For starters, you have to use spinning tackle. Who the heck uses spinning tackle for Bass? (LOL Easy guys, that was just a joke ) But seriously, if I hook a bluegill in that game, it breaks my line. Now I have been fishing for a lot of years and even before I was given the gift of PowerPro, I never had a bluegill break me off. I might get the Mark Davis game next. (If it doesn't suck) JT Bagwell Quote
D.Taylor Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Don't set the hook so hard. Losen the drag. Quote
