  1. The Pfleuger President is better than the curado so far, ive only had it for a year and i can flip way farther. We will see how it holds up after 5 or 10 yrs tho
  2. im 16, Anyone ever fish the junior bassmaster tournaments? I want to try fishin in tournaments against people my own age.
  3. Rapala DT16, very effective on deep weedlines.
  4. mark davis is on the ps2
  5. just bought mark davis bass fishing, i like it alot, i think for 15 bucks its the best fishing game ive ever played. u fish a ton of tournaments and fish actually relate to cover and its fast pace. fish are easy to catch but its fun. u can also catch a variety: smallies, spotts, northern largemouth, southern smallmouth. I recomend it to anyone who can get it cheap like that.
  6. i was walleye fishing one time and set the hook and was reeling in something, not sure what, it sorta just glided right in. At the same time my buddy set the hook and he was reeling something in and we both caught the 2 biggest turtles ive ever seen. The turtles had shells with about a 3 foot diamter. It was just crazy. Another time i was fishing up in canada and i was reeling in a perch and a muskie or northen bit it and i ended up reeling in a perch head. this summer i was dockfishing and i had about a 10inch bass on and i was reeling it in when all of a sudden a 35-40" northern attacked it, it bit it like 3 times and i was reeling the northern in until it was next to the boat and it got off, pretty crazy.
  7. hey, im from minnesota, just south of the twin cities, do u do alot of fishing in minnesota? If not what lakes do u usually fish, besides sturgeon bay.
  8. what rod do u guys use when cranking? what does that rod cost? and is it worth what u paid?
  9. all-time best known jig fisherman Denny Brauer I love the Strike King Pro-Model jig, which is his #1 jig, as is mine. When the jig bite is hot you know he will be up there.
  10. hands down black and blue jig or if an angler isnt good with a jig, then a senko is best

i dont know if it counts because i live in Minnesota and I've done the majority of my fishing in Minnesota, but i think the bass fishing is unreal. there are so many lakes and everyone has bass. Of course they dont get as big as the southern bass but ive heard from some southern bass fisherman that the numbers are better overall in Minnesota. Ive also caught many 5+ lb largemouths, and a few 4+ lb smallies. We dont have spots but largemouths and smallmouths are in a great abundance and most fisheries keep on getting better year after year.
  12. I have the same problem every tournament. My first couple tournaments i didnt sleep at all, i went to bed around 12 and woke up like 5 times, and finally got on the road by 3. I started taking some sleeping pills and that helped. When i wake up it doesnt really matter how much sleep i get, im pumped up and ready to fish. After every tournament i go home, eat, and crash. That makes up for the lack of sleep the night before.
  13. a while back i saw the infomercial about the banjo minnow, i got interested and i bought the set they sold over the phone. a few weeks later i recieved the package and started using them. for the first couple times i didnt really know what to do with them. but then the next weekend i went up to my friends cabin on a small lake in Wisconsion, and i asked what they were biting on and he said spinerbaits and banjo minnows, i was really surprised to hear that, so i rigged one up the way he did and i caught many bass. they actually worked very well. i kept catchin fish on them until i ran out of the parts in the kit. so i bought a new one The ad made me buy it but the outcome was good.
  14. hey Bassin-Nut, its not the boat that catches fish, remember that
  15. In Minnesota, In my opinion has relativly cold water compared to down south, topwater baits are good for average sized fish maybe 2lbs, and some maybe up to 3, but the rest bigger than that usually wont chase buzzbaits. i have caught 100s of 2lb and less bass on buzzbaits, and caught considerable bigger fish on lures such as a jig, big worm, tube, and other slow moving baits. I agree that buzzbaits are search baits which pickup reaction strikes most of the time. You will miss alot of fish on them, and its better to use a follow bait such as a senko, to actually catch the fish. I have had some good days on a buzzbait like on green lake where we just slaughtered the 3 lbers on and around shoreline laydowns, so i can see where ur coming from but i just dont think its a solid way to seperate big/small.
  16. i own a cheaper Minn kota if thats what ur looking for, its called Power Drive. they are alost cheaper than the Maxxums and i think they work great. if ur looking in that price range i think this is a good bet.
  17. im going to continue working jigs, i think they can be the most deadly lure for bass, especially big bass. I want to get as good as i can with them, i have a ton of confidence with them already so it wont be hard to get better with them. i also want to use them in milfoil more, i didnt get many opertunities to do this last year.
  18. im sure bass pro shops will have the DVD collection of the classic. they where advertising it as a promotion to suscribe to there magazine, it was a single DVD tho.
  19. i dissagree about buzz-baits big fat pigs are lazy, they would much rather hit a large slow moving bait like a worm or a jig, also. buzz-baits are only good at most times in the morning or at night. if u really want to seperate the big fish from the small fish dont use top-water. the smaller fish will allways hit it first. the only excepttion is frogs above the slop. smaller bass rarely try eating a large frog or rat above the slop, u will catch a higher percentage of lunkers on the frogs that way. water temp is also a big factor of when lunkers will hit fast moving baits like buzzbaits.
  20. i come on this website and just wish i was fishing im actually planing a road trip down south this winter, i know i wont be able to survive through the whole winter
  21. i love strike king for most plastics and i like shimano rods and reels and some bassproshops rods/reels for crankbaits i havent found a favorite brand, i dont use them enough to come up with a decision.
  22. im not possitve about this but i dont think u can use a curado in saltwater, but i think the chronarch is made for both fresh and saltwater, but not for sure
  23. if ur looking for a well priced baitcasting combo that definatly gets the job done go with the BPS "pro qualifier" i like it in low profile with either fast or slow gear ratio. u can get the combo with a BPS extreme rod in several lengths and actions.
