Hooking A Fish With A Single Hook Lure

I caught a largemouth bass with a buzzbait and notice a small hole on the side of his mouth where he was hooked.  I did not use excessive force when I hooked him.  I of course released him but I was wondering if this will affect this fish in anyway.

    No, it will not. I have actually caught fish and seen them healed up around a old hook mark.  Good Luck and enjoy that Catch and Release.

    Nope, don't seem to affect them. I catch several fish every day that I can see have been caught before. They will heal. Have fun C&R.
