If i'm trying to finesse a rubber jig....

1. Go with an all rubber jig imo

2. Trim a little and a small trailer to make the jig as compact as possible

3. Fish it on lightest line you can get away with

on a finesse jig I typically use a smaller trailer like a zoom craw or a small 2' chunk.  I will also trim the skirt to about 1/4-12" past the bend in the hook

For a trailer I'd recommend a tiny paca chunk, or if your looking for less action, a 2.75 inch yum chunk.

Yup yup.  The tiny chunk has saved my bacon a few times.
