Rootbeer and Rootbeer/Chart.

Featured Replies

I see these colors as favorites to a lot of people. Is this color good for clear or stained water?  Green tinge water or Brown tinge? Just curious as I have these colors in a few baits but honestly haven't tried them yet.

as a rule, tend to do better with them in stained...green or brown.

that said, the old bandit rootbeer color (without the chartreuse) was a killer in moving water like pickwick.

chartreuse just seems to be one of those colors i don't do very well with in clear waters.

Use them in dirty to very dirty water, so basically they work well in any stained water. It's one of those baits that don't stand out, but have a really settle tone to it. After white and firetiger, it's my next favourite crankbait colour.

I catch a ton on Rootbeer which is like a Translucent (big word heh!)

Pumpkinseed as well as pumpkinseed in crystal clear water.

Sounds like this is one of those colors that will produce wherever you use it. I use the chartreuse tail when skipping baits under docks or under and around boats.

SPAZ,

Was your question leaning towards cranks or plastics?

cranks

My vision of rootbeer is a brownish back, white or bone belly with light grn flake. That color I would use in a clear to lightly stained water. The tanic or brown colored water can somwtimes be considered clear at times. When I encounter that any bait I use will have an orange belly. I will go as far as using a Sharpie and color the belly myself.

The rootbeer/chartruese baits are like what the others have said, mainly for your more stained waters.

Just my 2 cents.
