Yesterday I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to try out some Gary Yamamoto Senko's but the largest size they had were 5 inches. Where can you buy them bigger?

While on the topic of senkos....I buy senkos from someone local, and they are HANDS DOWN, the best senko you will ever fish with!

Yami's work no doubt, but people catching many fish with them know, they fall apart in no time flat.

This guy hand pours them, they are cheap ($3.00 for 10, or $5.00 for 25) and you get alot, and a pleasure to work with.

Just thought I would help you guys find this site and use the best I have found. If you write them, tell them Brice sent ya ;)

I sometimes fish 7" Senkos, but I have just as much success with the 6" size. I don't use 5" anymore because I think they attract too many small bass. (Note: My buddy, Z, caught the biggest largemouth bass I have ever seen (in person) on a 5" Senko two weeks ago).

You can buy direct from Yamamoto.

Hey roadwarrior!

Any suggestions on working one of those Senkos. I just bought some yesterday and have never used them before. THANKS!

Peruse the BassResource library. There are about a zillion Senko articles available here. For me, it's always weightless and weedless in <12' of water, on structure or near cover. I generally use a #4/0 or #5/0 Gamakatsu EWG, but I sometimes use the #5/0 Gammie Offset Round Bend. Cast it out and let it settle. Fish SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, moving the worm with a short sweeping motion and letting it settle on slack line (so it drops straight down, not forward).

This probably sounds stupid, but when you mean weightless, you're saying just lure and hook, right? The problem I have when fishing like that is my line gets extremely twisted. Is it ok to use a brass swivel/snap while fishing with a senko?

Use a Texas-rig and be sure the worm is straight. I don't have a problem with twist so I don't know about using a swivel. I just don't want anything changing the fall of the Senko. That's why I never fish it with a weight. If I need a weight, I use a different worm (Kut-Tail) or some other soft plastic (Gitzit, lizard, Hula grub or Kreature).

R.W. hey C-rigged, how do you fish a senko without weight???

I often keep a swivel in the line a bout 12" inches or so. Not primarily so much for Senkos but other unweighted baits and worms. Tie it on just like a carolina rig just do not put on a weight. I wouldn't use a snap if nothing else it will collect weeds.

On the GYCB (Yamamato) Site they seem to have a pretty acurate dealer list at least in this area.  Of course 2 of them are GYCB shops so I guess that should simplify things.

I fished a shad colored senko on a 5/0 Gam. EWG weightless through grass beds the other day and SLAYED them.  I would cast just beyond the submerged grass and pull it through or on top and let it fall off the inside edge.  Every four or five casts was a hookup, including a few big ones.
