Question about Leaders

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'm new here but I'm really excited about this.  I've been fishing my whole life but it was mainly sitting in the boat drowing worms while my dad showed me up.  But this summer is my last before I graduate college and enter the 'real world!' so I've decided that I'm gonna live it up and fish as much as I can and basically enjoy life while I still can.  So you could say i'm addicted now, i've been out to the lake/pond 6 days in a row now..lol

My question is about snap on leaders.  They seem to be very handy when you want to change lures etc. but I was wondering what effect they have of the overall presentation or if the fish even notice them at all.  Do you guys reccomend using them or taking the extra two minutes to tie on whatever you're using?

Thanks alot, and I look forward to spending quite a bit of time on here.

you don't use a leader on everything there are many rigs though I only use leaders for carolina-rig 2-3ft can be longer; Drop-shot 3-5ft; soft jerbait 2-3ft.

I always tie-I lost my favorite lure many years ago when a snap swivel came open and I haven't used one since.  The only thing I use a swivel for, and it is a barrel swivel, is a Carolina rig and a floating worm rig.
