In my oppinion your brothers a believer in the bigger the fish the better the catch which really isn't always a case, and Is why I don't fish catfish on the delaware.

But I agree with you I want to go to, I hear they fight like a smallmouth X 2

exactly. the 1 thing that's even more beautiful than their color ......is their attitude!!

All topwater till the callousses hurt too much.

What's better than that?

Why bother going to South America if you can find them in Florida ! maybe not as big but still, they are there.

i saw a show about that on tv. they were stocked into the canals in miami to get rid of the tropical, un-native fish that people dump into the canals from the home aquariums when they dont want pets anymore. on this show they were catch tons of peacocks, the biggest was around 6 lbs and they caught 3 or 4 largemouth over 5 lbs. it made me want to go fish the canals in miami.

Iv see shows of that to.I wish that they able to live farther north than dade county because im only in central fl.

Just do a search on the internet for peacock bass.  They get them in to 20lb range in south america.  Watch the fishing shows on TV, you might catch them when they are down there fishing.  I watched Ike break 2 rods back to back on peacocks. Its insane, the top water bite is like jaws smashing something on the surface.  I looked into a trip there, better start saving!!!

I saw a special on Peacock Bass fishing a little while ago.  It was with a native guide on what looked like the dirtiest water I'd ever seen.  The water looked like ink.  They mostly threw huge torpedo baits.  It was literally like watching a torpedo hit a sub at full speed. NICE!  :D

One thing I thought was kind of funny was after he released one of his bass he stuck his hand in the water to show the camera how murky it was.  The guide snapped, "uh, I wouldn't do that if I were you".  That boy yanked his hand back so fast I think he broke his watch.  Funny stuff...

I just saw the past 2 years Citgo Classic Adventure tournements on ESPN. They went fishing for peacock bass in Venezuela. The topwater hits were insane! Plus, they fight like crazy. One guy probably put it best when he said they fight like a smallmouth on steroids. Some guys broke several rods fighting them.

On the first show the largest caught was 14.5 lbs, and on the second show they caught several over 20 lbs!
