When trailer hook rigging, do you guys let the hook freely swing or do you use tubing to keep it stiff. Saw Hank Parkers show, he lets the hook just swing without any tubing. I have never done it that way. Just wondering if its more effective. ???

With the rubber tubbing or a rubber band you don 't have the trailer hook running up and down along the other hook Boo.

I saw that show too and I think I remember him saying that he prefers to do it that way, but sometimes the conditions just don't allow it.  If the grass is real thick, you may have to secure it with the surgical tubing to keep from getting hung up.  I have read articles where some guys have mentioned using more than on trailer hook and alternating them (one with the point up, the next with the point down), but again this would only work if the water was open enough to allow it.

I use the rubber as a stopper so it doesn't come off.

i have done it both ways and it's more weedless if it is fixed and not swinging.i see no difference in hookups with it fixed. ;D

When I am useing one trailer hook it swings free. But I sometimes use as many a four or five trailer hooks linked in a chain. In this case I will keep all but the last one stiff. Yea it sounds crazy but when they are just flashing at my spinner bait I keep adding trailers untill I hook up. Trust me it works.

My trailer hooks swing freely and the tubing is used to keep them from sliding off.

I let my trailer swing freely with a stopper.  I have found when I have run the eye of the trailer through the rubber it tends to hang left or right on occasion.  This is not a natural presentation.  The rubber does has no memory so it will enclose around the spinnerbait hook causing friction.
