Anyone use the Chinese rig?

Featured Replies

Anyone use or heard of the Chinese rig? Its the same thing as a drop shot, but with a carolina rig on the bottom. It sounds like it would work, just make the carolina rig weght smaller so you can work it with spinning tackle. Casting it may be a little tricky.

Not a bad Idea. I often times use a Texas Rig at the bottom but I never thought of using a C-Rig.

Interesting idea!!   8) Recommendations on the C-rig bait?

As Will said, casting would be tricky.  I guess you could also say it is a Carolina rig with a finesse bait up a few feet on the mainline also.  Either way, interesting  idea.  I may try it next Saturday.

Interesting concept.  Makes sense once you think about it.

I read in one of the newer Bassmaster mags. the some people are using a jig/pig as the weight for a c-rig. I can see why it would work, i'm sure i've had fish hit the weight in my rig before so the jig would kindoff solve that issue. As far as the chinese rig, I think it would work for me. I fish a lot of deep points and rockwalls so I will have to rig one up next time out.

I like that idea, I think no fish in america has seen that rig. I gotta try that sometime. I have tried that jig and pig drop sshot and its not as great as you think, MAJOR LINE TWIST
