Featured Replies

Does anybody have a clue as to what this creature is? I cut it out of a bass that I caught today. Any suggestions?

Alien???????

Can somebody please show me or tell me how to post more than one picture at a time instead of me having to reply to keep posting one picture at a time?  I have the photobucket web site.  I just don't know how to transfer from that site to this one.

any chance you can get a slightly larger picture, they are really hard to see.

Is it Rosemary's baby? It looks like alien as a baby.

To post multiple pictures in a single post like this one....... there is an icon 3rd img.gif from the left on the first row next to the globes ftp.gif and before the envelope email2.gif . Press that button and you will get this " [img . Besure to make each side the same %7Boption%7D. Then you post the link to your picture between these tags. example

%7Boption%7Dhttp://www.bassresource.com/yabbfiles/Attachments/th_4columnchart015.jpg {/img]. Besure { this looks like this [ An easy way to get the direct link for any picture is to right click on the picture, go to properties, copy and paste the URL and insert that between the tags. I hope this helps!

Another great way to learn how something is done is to quote someone that has done what you'd like to do and follow what that person has done.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack or get off topic.

I have seen stuff like that on the discovery channel.  its a cross bread of a leach worm and a eel (wonder how that happend) anways it attaches its self to fish and sucks its blood. very painfull it will some times attach itself to swimmers.

just my thought.

"cut it out of a bass I caught today" meaning it was attached to the bass or it came out of inside the bass?

Baby snake of some sort?

Put it on ice and call your fisheries dept. in the morning. They might want to see it.

throw a 3/0  hook on there and see how it fishes

It was cut out of a basses stomach.  I caught 4 bass for super and this is what the biggest one had eaten.

Its probably a type of leach.  Leaches are great bait for bass fishing.  I used to Take a couple cans of dog food to the river and tie them to a tree and throwem in.  I would come back in four or five days, dump out the dog food and put the leaches in an aquarium.  Givem some beef liver to suck on for a few weeks and they swell up huge.  Anyway, bass lovem.  From what I can tell that is what it is.

It looks like some kind of freshwater eel.  Really hard to tell with the small pictures.

Are you thinking of a lamprey? :-/ I've heard of them but I don't really know what they look like.

It looks a lot like a University of Tennessee cheerleader.

I don't think it's a lamprey. They will attach themselves to the outside and have a round mouth with radial teeth all the way around. I don't know what that thing you have is.

Carpfisher:  Your the winner, it is a freshwater eel.  There are a lot of them that are in private ponds around the area where I live.  Bass love them.  If you grab one it will bite you.

You were close, but I was looking for freshwater eel.  Good guess.
