lost spark on outboard (Johnson)
sounds to me like the power packs. I have seen boats that run, but very poorly with bad packs and I have seen engines that have never had one problem just quit. without the capability of diagnostics, you cant tell if the packs are bad. If you could somehow get your hands on some that will fit your engine, you could try that

New Boat!!
Yeah, got alot of work to do. I can get pretty much everything done with the exception of engine stuff and trolling motor. that will have to wait after fire season, hopefully i can get out a bunch. Its exactly what I wanted, a starter boat. Learn how to do stuff on them and work on the motor, good on fuel and small. gionna be painful not getting it on the water for a while

Are chatterbaits worth investing in??
just got some not too long ago. Used them a few times with no luck. Interested to see how they will do in the dead heat of a southern summer

Sex(not what you think)
The easiest way to sex them, and the way hatcheries do it, is by turning the bass upsode down and gently sqeezing the belly towards the back fin. If white stuff comes out it is a male, if yellow comes out it is a female. There are times when poop comes out and it tricks you. Worked at a hatchery some and this is how we sexed all the bass. Though after bedding season this does not work to well.

Which Shimano reel
Kinf of what I was expecting. I love my Curados, dont have the money to throw at a couple new ones yet. Starting turkey hunting this season too, there is a little mouse that keeps taking money out of my wallet for that...haha..... Looks like the Citica is the way to go. Preciate all the info.

Which Shimano reel
oh ok, my mistake.... so they just made a "new" curado and I am guessinf the Citica is like the old Curado?

Which Shimano reel
I have been on a hiatus the past year and haven't wet a hiook in a while. Getting back situated now and starting it back up. I have three Curados, the ones before they jacked up the price. My question now is, before I go spend all the money, which Shimano is comparable to the $99 Curado, the Cruxis or Citica. I see Cab and BPS both have rebates for all three, just would like some perspective from people who have used these two. Thanks

Those People
atleast you have hooked one bigger than 6!! and if it werent for the people who lose THE BIG ONE at the boat, there would never be any good fishing stories to pass along.. So to you I Lose the big one at the boat, we thank you for your stories. All the years I have been fishing and have yet to catch anything bigger than 5.5, its a shame. You are lucky you atleast get to hookem man,.

What in the world is this?!?!?!?!
Its probably a type of leach. Leaches are great bait for bass fishing. I used to Take a couple cans of dog food to the river and tie them to a tree and throwem in. I would come back in four or five days, dump out the dog food and put the leaches in an aquarium. Givem some beef liver to suck on for a few weeks and they swell up huge. Anyway, bass lovem. From what I can tell that is what it is.

Drives me nuts
I say if you are good casting in the other areas, then stick with them and dont worry about overhand.

Bass Fishing: An Olympic Sport?
OK, fishing is a sport, but you do not have to be an Athlete to participate. Bass fishing does not require strength like Fball or wrestling, nor does it require the endurance of Soccer or CrossCountry. It does require patience and body endurance (standing all day is tough while trying not to fall out the boat). Fishing is a sport just like Golf, or Shooting or archery. But it does not involve a great deal of athleticism, you can be over weight, can't run 100 yds w/o passing out and still fish. As for Fishing being in the Olympics, I hope I am never alive to see it. I might sounds a little mena here but, HELL NO!!! There is no need to get a million people crazed over it. Then there will be more nuts out on the water. I wish ESPN did not pump fishing up like it does. Keep it on the buddy level. You take a kid fishing and he falls in love with it, you take a buddy fishing and he is hung for life. I would much rather have fishing on a small level, take away all the BIG money stuff. Seems like every year Bass fishing is losing its roots, just like NASCAR, its all about the money, not the fishing! this opinion does not reflect the opinion of my family, friends, school, home, cats dogs, country, town or fishing club; they are solely the views of me.
