Red Mouth?

Recommended Posts

I have noticed the bass I've been catching this spring have alot of red on the edges of their mouths.  If bass had lips it would be in this area.  Me and my partner thought this may be do to increased feeding activity do to warming of waters.  Perhaps foraging in rocks for crawdads?  Anybody make this same observaton?

Eating crawfish will do that, and stain their throats red too. Now you know what to toss to them  :D

they do have lips and they actually have taste buds on their lips, thats why they nudge prey before striking it
