PETA tournament alert

Featured Replies

Just found this on another forum. I decided to post it here to because I have seen some of the lake's names mentioned here.

Talk about goofy..........

Calling All PETA Activists!

We're unveiling PETA's newest tool to protect animals! Check out our beautiful, brand-new, state-of-the-art activist tool to help fish. [http://www.fishinghurts.com/RoboFish.asp]

Using remote controls, pro-fish activists can direct robotic fish to circle anglers' boats and emit very loud noises, thereby scaring away all the fish and saving them from horrible injuries and deaths on anglers' hooks.

We need your help to put our school of robo-fish into action! If you want to use one of PETA's robo-fish to disrupt fishing tournaments in your area, please let me know.

We already have team leaders for the following three tournaments, and they would love to have your help! Please contact me right away if you want to get involved.

Five Alive Bassmasters Buddy Bass Tournament at Assunpink Lake in New Jersey

Wal-Mart Walleye League in Trenton, Michigan

IFA Redfish Tour in Lafitte, Louisiana

There are dozens more tournaments on our radar. If you're willing to help out, we can send you a robo-fish with operating instructions and find a tournament for you. Please send me your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number if you would like to receive a loaner robo-fish.

Just a few hours of your time can save hundreds of fish from horrible pain and suffering. PETA has found that the robo-fish are 100 percent effective. Imagine the looks on anglers' faces after spending an entire day trying to impale unsuspecting fish and coming away with nothing!

Thanks again for all that you do for animals. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Karin Robertson, Manager

One of those PETA folks finds themselves messing with the wrong angler is gonna get hurt.  Too bad I won't be there to see it.

So I'm assuming if I get a buncha them robo-fish and run 'em around all the other guys' boats in the tournament it'd be frowned upon?

if they ran those robo fish around my boat, id just take out my pistol and shoot them, then what can they do?

I hope they find me with one of those.

See there is a law that says  you can not harrass anyone fishing as long as they are not breaking the law. So not only will I press charges, I will hook their little toy and take it home!

There were some of the hippy. tree huggin, granola burpin, peta freaks at the classic in Pitt.

They were holding up a sign. My friend and I got an ESPN banner and went and stood right in front of them.

They left shortly after. I guess he didn't like the aroma that was coming from my backside.  ;)

The crowd went wild! ESPN was happy with us too!

I would just have to start carrying a shot gun to the tournaments, and shoot Robocarp. Peta and their kind are some the stupidest people around. They do that with a lot of money on the line and somebody will go "IKE" on them. I would ban them from launching from my marina. You could go non-lethal and pound them with rubber bullets or a bean bag gun. Or you could go the old fashion way and board their boat, kick their butt, and sink their remote control.  ;D

Somebody will invent a scrambler if it starts happen too much. You should be able to arrest them for harrassment because it is legal to hunt and fish. It's illegal to harrass somebody. Peta, what losers they are.  >:(

That's gotta be a joke.

This illegal in my state as it falls under the hunter harassment law.

No way that is true. That is got to be one of he stupidest things I have ever heard.

Heck, you think Byron Velvick has one of those robo-fish going around his boat? LOL

What they're proposing is indeed illegal.  Not only is it a criminal offense, but in many states, you can sue them for damages as well.

I'm sure the FLW will put a stop to it pronto if it occurs.

Funny.... I get hate mail from PETA members often.  These folks absolutely believe they're doing nothing illegal.  Guess it'll be a surprise to them when they're handcuffed, sitting in the back of a patrol car!   ;D

them & the fish

Oh please, if anyone hears of this happening near them, I want one. What great toy. We can just net them and see what the "owners" have to say when they try and get them back.

Hate mail should be a crime also.....

It actually is here in PA but few people ever act on it by reporting it to the appropriate law agency.

That's gotta be a joke.

I kind of thought that too but who knows? The activists are just stupid enough to try it.

That has got to be the stupidest thing I have EVER heard

PETA needs to just shut-up stop trying to disrupt our God given freedoms, if one of them PETA **** ever tries to disrupt my tournament or even fun fishing I swear I will rearange their face.

looks like we will need to start bringing a 12 gauge in the boat to blow that crap outta the water

Any Navy guys have any mini depth charges? ::)

Take them seriously, during the years I was living in Wyoming some of these tree-hugging fruitcakes went around spiking trees. Spiking is driving large nails into trees with the stated hope of having the timber cutters chainsaws kicking back on them when they hit a spike and killing the saw's operator. They actually equate a fish or game animal's life equal to a human life therefore if you die as a result of their actions they are only defending those that can't defend themselves so your death is only defense of another's life. There are a number of these animal and even plant life groups that are listed by the FBI as Terrorist Groups. I would not be surprised what so ever to see some day they may start taking more direct and lethal actions against sportsmen of all types. Some of their hardcore activists have gone underground for the express reason that they will be ready when defense is warranted.

This really burns me up! The "Feds" need to start targeting these groups more, in order to gain evidence of their funding of these splinter "direct action" groups before some sportsman looses their life. Also their funds and fund raising needs some serious auditing for the same purpose.

Wow...are you kidding me? They actually spiked those trees in hopes of killing another human being to save a tree? That's a shame...there is something seriously wrong with a person like that.
