REALY muddy water

Featured Replies

as you might have seen on the news ,northern new england has gotten a lot of rain and flooding lately. i am just north of the border on the richelieu river which is fed by lake champlain. all the runoff from the last couple of weeks has turned the water from very clear to extremely dirty. what would some of you guys use in a situation like this? lately ive been catching a lot of smallies on hulla grubs and tubes , but the last few days i havent caught anything.

A big dark colorado blade spinnerbait, black jig, and a big wide wobbling crankbait.

floods = really muddy water = stay home and play with the dog.

Avid knows but if you have to!!!!! find clearer water were smaller creeks drain areas. Try the down stream end of Islands if they have a bay and go to the very back. Some times the surface water is muddy and the deeper water is clearer.

For me visit friends do yard dutys generally browny pts. with 1 eye on the river when conditions get right those fish will be biting.

Vegitation is usually the first to filter out some of the mudd.  Go with wide wobbling baits, chartruese colorado blades or white, rattling, noise baits.   Bass are feeding off vibrations and scents.

I hate this!! It's rainy and windy!!

I am about 4 hours south of Boston, Mass and it's just like your having, here!
