Great question but I don't have a good answer.

This is also true with any other type of plastic fished over heavy pads or grass.

I hope you receive so interesting solutions so we all can learn.

I swim the Senko over the top, like you would a frog, then let it fall into holes, the pull it back up on top and keep going like that...have had moderate success...

I have got hit while pulling it across the top more than I have got hit with it falling into the holes. I think because it is so hard to get good action inside a small little hole inside weeds...it is a "hit em on the nose" kind of deal...but I have got bites.

I usually just let if fall as far as it will then twitch a little.

It is a rough way fish no matter what.

I've had the same trouble myself. I'm sure you're fishing it "weightless", so....maybe think about a spoon in those areas or perhaps a Buzz Bait? Those have blown me away in the past with their ability to ignore the weeds. I like the Silver Minnow the best in the Spoons....they helped me win an amateur tournament once about 16 years ago or so in the type of weeds you described.

One of my favorite tricks for the senko in the weeds is to go against conventional weightless rigging and T rig it with a 3/4 to 1 oz weight and pitch it into holes in the weeds. I reccomend braided line for this technique since you will need all the help you can pulling out even a decent sized fish and braid cuts thru the weeds very nicely. I used this technigue to finish 4th in a recent tournament.

Good Luck
