How do you....

Featured Replies

fish a swim jig? Do you cast it out and reel it in like a spinnerbait or go you bounce it up and down?

Both ways work well. I like to slowly retrieve it just above the bottom and the odd time let it touch. It seems to work pretty well because it looks like an injured worm.

because it looks like an injured worm.

Not making a personal attack, just poking fun.... but that just sounds funny!

I'm no good with swim baits but I can tell you I've seen friends smack the tar out of fish jigging it up and down gradually down drops or jigging it/swimming it over drops.

I fish these a lot like a spinnerbait with a varied retrieve. Sometimes I'll yo-yo 'em, sometimes I'll burn 'em in something fierce, sometimes I'll use a slow retrieve with intermittent quick jerks. I like to use Zoom Swimmin' Chunks with my swimming jigs. I use Booyah 3/8 oz. swim jigs.
