Moon Times - Four phases of the moon are usually what the fisherman is concerned with. Generally the "best times" in a month occur three days prior and three days after, and include the day of the new or full moon. First quarter and second quarter periods are considered as only "good times."

The best time is to be there fishing with your baits in the water whenever you can.

Because I don't get on the water as much as I'd like to and our open water season is shorter than other parts of the country (Minnesota), I use one of the products from Rick Taylor's web site.

So far I haven't been disappointed. Dough hannon has a good product, I just happen to like this one. Caught my biggest bass (8.9 lb) on a lake fork trip using the tables, my biggest pike (45 inch) doing the same. Weather will always trump the sun and the moon as far as a fish bite, but any added edge is helpful. Taylor's site gives some good explanations even if you don't buy his product.
