mexico fishing questions
Like most people, I think of fishing some of the much hyped bass lakes in Mexico, el salto, lake baccarac, lake huites. I know the cost is significant, but I'd still like to know what others think. How do you choose a lodge if you've never been. One of my problems is that it is difficult to find someone that is willing to spend that amount of money for this type of trip when you need at least 2 people to begin to get a reasonable rate.. How do I locate someone willing/ interested in going on a bass trip of a lifetime? Though I don't consider myself a great bass fisherman, I can hold my own. I've fished canada a number of times, done well, but want to add this to my list of fishing destinations. Thoughts, recommendations, info would be greatly appreciated. :-/ :-/

Walleye Tips from shore
the color i've had most success on from shore has been the black and gold rapala floater. You might also try some of the shallow shad raps, or the standard shad raps depending on the depth you wnat to hit, generally try to get them within a foot of the bottom on the retrieve.

Crappie ID (White or Black?)
Here's the way to tell. Discerning the differences between a white crappie and a black crappie can be tricky. Aspiring record-breakers should count the spines on the dorsal (top) fin: The black crappie has seven to eight dorsal spines, while the white crappie has only five to six. Another good way to tell the difference between these two closely related species is to look at the fish's colorationif the fish is marked with random spots, it's most likely a black crappie. A white crappie is marked with five to 10 vertical bars along its sides.

Painting your boat..
I repainted a smokercraft aluminum boat about 15 years ago. stripped off all the old paint, used the etching/aluminum cleaner and used an epoxy paint from the automotive parts supply. The paint has not flaked off anywhere on the boat except in a few places on the top where I didn't remove all the old paint. i am still amazed at how well it has held up.

Knot Tying
Bass resource fishing forums are the best site ever for bass fishing info. We all talk about knots, best knot for connecting lines to lines, line to cranks, line to jigs etc. after reading about all the knots, I sometimes want to see how to tie them or what makes them different. here's a link that gives an animated knot tying demo for just about every knot. www.animatedknots.com I know that sometimes links aren't suggested, but thought this might be okay. :-/
