Just curious what your go to or favorite cranks for any of the water depths.

Do you prefer plastic or wood

I guess time of year or conditions would play a role in what you would use. Also small discription of why you use or like this crankbait.

Don't get too complicated, just list 1 or 2 that you have the best confidence in each depth. I'm not talking softbait, but hardbaits.

Topwater =rebel pop-r

shallow= manns baby one minus

mid = bandit flat maxx

deep=bill norman DD22

No balsa for me! I cant say why I love these baits so much other than confidence and experience with them.

Deep=Don't fish deep cranks yet

Only reason I love these is because I know they catch fish and have a lot of confidence in them!

Topwater = Jitterbug, that 's my "favorite", that don 't mean all I fish for topwater are Jitterbugs.

Shallow = Rapala Shallow Shad Rap, Rapala Shallow Fat Rap

Mid = Storm Mid Wart

Deep = Rapala Shad Rap, Megabass Bait X

Topwater: Ima Roumba

Shallow: Worden's Timber Tiger DC5

Medium: Fat Free Shad

Deep: Worden's Timber Tiger DC16+

Topwater = Lucky Craft Sammy 100, Zara Super Spook Jr., and the original Zara Spook.

Shallow = Lucky Craft RC 1.5 and anything made by Bomber.

Mid depth = Rapala DT 6's and 10's. Bombers are also up there too.

Deep = Not much experience here yet. My two favorites are the Fat Free Shad and the Rapala DT 16.

Barely the tip of the iceberg, but I'll try to keep it to two or three per category (though I strongly object! )

Top: Chug Bug

Shallow: (tie) Flat-Shad Sonny B, Big M "M-Flat", JawJacker Model B, Zoom WEC Hicky.....okay, okay....I have a hard time stopping here....

Mid: Rapala DT-6, Storm Wiggle Wart

Mid/Deep ('10): Big M "Tapp" style, Poe's Comp Cedars 4300

Deep (low-mid teens): (tie) Rapala DT-16 and Poe's Comp Cedars 4400

Mag Deep (18+): Big M Cedar Sub, Poe's Comp Cedars 4500 LR

I have no preference for lure construction (wood vs. plastic).    

Top= Zara spook or the vixen

Shallow = RC 1.5 or series 1xs , 4s , red eye

Mid depth = series 4 red eye

Deep = Fat free and Series 5 and Series 6

I like to fish things a little different to most. I will dig the shallow with a deep bait just to kick up bottom. I will run a mid depth at speed over deep rock pile to trigger some smallies. But the luckys are my favorite but the price I like the Strike king baits
