We were fishing in a cove in a tital river off of the chesapeake bay yesterday, on an incoming tide.  Water depth was 3-4 feet and rising and we were fishing a huge

grass bed.   I was using a Lucky craft american shad bds ssr super shallow crank bait and I cought 2 huge catfish.... I had never seen a Catfish inailate a crank bait like these to ugly SOB's did.  I also caught a very nice female that went approx.  4 pounds and about 4-5 smaller males.

I have caught catfish on plastic worms, crank baits, spinnerbaits and even flies (wooly bugger) catfish are predators and will eat live food when they get to a certain size. Every cat I have caught has been in current with no visible cover.

I got a catfish on a blue rapala jointed minnow.  I was bank fishing a stream.  The stream had partially undercut the bank and the big bluish catfish darted out and rolled on the bait, taking right off the surface.  I fought it up and down the stream, he was a fatty, he snapped my line and I lost him.

Just the other day I had a cat hit my crappie jig.......needless to say that fight didn't last long....no jig and no fish! :-/

The catfish are spawning here in GA.  This is the best time to catch them on artificial baits b/c they hit the lures out of aggression to guard their spawn, usually in shallow water.  3 days ago I spotted two cats guarding their spawn at my feet in 2 foot of water.  I got one to bite a rapala floating minnow.

I had a carp bigger thant Jaws grab a bandit 100 a month ago. Pulled me and the boat about 30yds down the lake. Finally came unhooked at the boat. Only really bad thing about those cats is them rolling and sliming the line.

Let's see... I've caught Cat fish on plastic worms and crank baits. Then I've caught Bluegill on spinner baits, plastic worms, lizards and even on top water plugs. I even caught a huge Nile Perch on a jig one time!

ive also had carp and cats hit everything.....everybait has the potential  to catch any fish

Probably my most memorable catch was having a 9.5 lb. catfish crush my buzzbait.  I thought I had a monster bass, but no such luck.

It's funny that you guys bring this up because I was fishin on the Grand River here in Michigan about a week or so ago and some buddies and I decided to trie to catch some cats after a hard day of bassin.  Well we used some stink bait over a treble hook and SLAMMED 'em.  Some of those fish we caught were easy over 10 lbs.... there always a fun fight anyway.

I have caught an 18 pound Blue Cat on a parakeet crank bait.

Several Channels as a kid on beetle spins.

I hear they catch alot of Channels and Flat heads at baldwin on various lures.

Stands to reason, if they are hungry, I mean they eat live fish as well. :)

I've also caught several cat on plastic worms, spinnerbaits, crankbaits and swim jigs! the two biggest caught was about 35 lbs. on a tequilla sunrise worm and my last one just a few weeks ago. This one had to be about 70 - 80 lbs! Big ol' flat head! Check him out!
